Dear brothers and fellow Batang Karmelo,

On this Maundy Thursday, and as we reflect on the theme of the Synod on Synodality, that is, we are journeying together as a Church, we are pleased to introduce the CARMELIAN VINCULUM CARITATIS DAMAYAN FUND (CVCDF).

What is CVCDF or Damayan Fund?

This is a fund coming from voluntary contributions from among us, to be given to those among us who are in obvious challenging financial conditions on account of health issues, emergencies such as fire, typhoon and other calamities, and even death. This fund, separate and distinct from our Foundation and FCA funds, is not merely a financial endeavor; it embodies the spirit of communion and solidarity with us all and with one another, Batang Karmelo. While we regularly come to the aid of another who is sick or is heavily burdened, individually and even silently, and while we are always at each other's side in prayers and in our expression of solace and comfort, WE WANT TO BE MORE AND TO DO MORE. We want, as a group, to give assistance and financial help in such times of need.

Here’s how we can build this fund together and how we intend to put it in effect:

Shared Responsibility:

  • Each contribution, regardless of its size, becomes a thread in the tapestry of our collective care.

  • Let us recognize that our interconnectedness extends beyond words and prayers—it includes practical support.

  • P100, P1,000, P10,000? no amount is set. Every contribution, anonymous or otherwise, will be reflected in the regular report, to be viewed on our website.

Concrete Love in Action:

  • While our prayers and comforting words are essential, the Damayan Funds allows us to go further.

  • It enables us to provide monetary assistance precisely when our brothers face urgent needs.

Seed of Compassion:

  • To kickstart this initiative, Kuya Henry Amolar contributed P10,000.

  • Kuya Fr. Job Victoria adds P5,000,

  • Kuya Boying Pena contributed P1,000.

  • Atty and Mrs Anthony Villamor also donated P10,000, bringing our initial funds to P26,000.

  • Together, we nurture compassion, and from these seeds, a more compassionate Batang Karmelo can grow.

Self-Reliance and Unity:

  • Rather than seeking external assistance, let us rely on our collective strength.

  • Express your willingness to contribute by reaching out via call, text, email, or message.

  • As donations come in, we will diligently update our website for transparency and monitoring.

  • Of course, when the Foundation is put up, and if the FCA is in a better position to give, this Damayan Fund may receive contributions other than our personal contributions.

Who are the first recipients of our funds?

  • We have identified five (5) Batang Karmelo who will initially get P5,000 each on or before Easter Sunday. For transparency, we will report this through our website.

Who manages the fund, and who decides whom to give, how much and how often?

  • A team of 3 people will be formed to be the Damayan Fund managers, responsible for all matters about this fund...

  • Initially, and since time is of the essence, pls allow Atty Villamor to be on that team in the meantime, and until the team of Damayan Fund managers is formed. (Hopefully after this posting)

  • Explore our dedicated page to learn more about the fund and stay informed.

  • Together, we can stand united in compassion and generosity, supporting one another in times of need.

May this fund be a living expression of our synodal journey—a journey where we walk side by side, bearing one another’s burdens, and manifesting Christ’s love in practical ways.

May God's blessings be upon us, especially now this Holy Week, and as we await on Easter, and may Our Lady of Mt Carmel pray for and accompany us in our journey. Amen.
